Try again

Acrylique, lin.

Acrylic, linen. Gambling addiction is a global phenomenon with severe consequences. Despite the promotion of “responsible gaming,” support measures remain insufficient, and the mechanisms of dependence are often exploited by the industry.
Try Again explores the relentless mechanics of gambling addiction. The acrylic medium, with its stark contrasts and sharp graphic style, emphasizes the coldness and isolation of the player, while the textile embodies the figures of the gambling system. Player, state, researchers, and operators appear alike: same color, same size, same absence of expression. Yet this uniformity conceals an unequal balance of power. Only the player wanders and loses themselves, while the others fully control the rules and profit from them.
The black and white palette, in contrast to the euphoric aesthetic of gambling, reveals a much darker reality. Through the interplay of material, repetition, and the absence of individuality, Try Again exposes a system in which the player sinks deeper, confronted with inaccessible and indifferent figures.
